Why Use Us

Well, you might be wondering, why see a nutritionist at all?
Anyone who’s seen Morgan Spurlock’s ‘Supersize me’ will have seen the impact a diet high in saturated and trans-fats, preservatives and artificial flavourings, refined carbohydrates and sugar (and low in any vitamins, fibre, essential fats and generally anything of nutritional value) can have on our health.

This is an extreme example, and some may think that as long as we don’t eat junk food more than once a week, then food is essentially a type of ‘fuel’ which keeps us going quite nicely.
‘The body produces what it needs’ is a common belief, almost as if, whatever we feed it, it will just break it down into very small particles and turn them into what it needs to operate. (if we have even stopped to give it that much thought!)
This couldn’t be further from the truth.
The body can only combine the building blocks we give it to produce what it needs, and the quality of these building blocks directly affect the quality of our health.
The benefits of a healthy diet
If our diet doesn’t include the essential fats, amino acids (proteins), vitamins, minerals, fibre, phytonutrients (plant derived compounds) and water we need, then our body will have to compromise in some way. Processes that ensure our cell renewal, our organ function or protection against diseases may well start to go wrong.
Nutritional therapy can help you understand which parts of your diet (some which you might not even suspect!) are gradually damaging your health and how you can put this right, not only to be free of disease but also full of vitality.
It can help you get more out of life by helping you understand that feeling below par, or constantly fatigued, or depressed, or falling prey to constant colds and bugs is not the best you can expect. In fact, we also believe that ageing is not synonymous with becoming unhealthy either.
The good thing about nutrition is that it gives you choices and helps you take your health in your own hands – a very empowering feeling!
